Why our batteries Stack up against other brands:

  • True battery capacity. This is the capacity after 10 or 20 charge/discharge cycles. Not the initial few. Inferior cells drop quite quickly.
  • Voltage maintenance under load. The ability to maintain good nominal voltage under high load. Inferior cells drop under load and thus the tool slows down.
  • Fast charge capability. Good cells are built to withstand this without detriment to the cycle life
  • Self discharge. While all NiCd and NiMH drill cells self discharge, cheaper cells have a far greater rate of self discharge. Some really cheap branded products that are sold in the major hardware stores with drill, bits and case etc can have self discharge levels as high as 30% a day after only a few months occasional use.
  • Cycle life. Simply the number of charge/discharge cycles the cells are capable of delivering when used in the tool. This is paramount to tradesmen who invest in their tools, buy quality and want a battery to match. They expect the battery packs to give as good as the OEM packs if not better. This is where the inferior cells really show their vulnerability.
